How to Start a Meeting

Starting an NA meeting can be relatively easy. NA meetings may vary greatly in structure and format, however, there is always one constant: They are started so that the NA message of recovery can be carried to the still-suffering addict in the most effective way – addict to addict. In order to ensure your meeting is posted on our area website, new NA Groups are asked to email webservant@chinookna.org . Please include the following information:

  • Meeting (Group) Name
  • Location – Include the building name (church, community centre, etc) and the full address with postal code. Please also include any special instructions related to the building in which you meet. (e.g. basement level, rear door, parking available, etc.)
  • Day(s) of the week and the time your group meets.
  • Your meeting format (Open/closed, Basic Text  study, LGBTQ+ or womenn-only, etc.) Various NA meeting format options may be found on our meeting search page. (By clicking on the ‘All Formats’ button)
  • Whether your location is wheelchair accessible.
  • The date of your first scheduled meeting.
  • Your new new meeting will be posted to the meeting search page (and our printable list) approximately one week prior to the date of your first meeting
