Area Service Committee (ASC)
The area committee is the primary means by which the services of a local NA community are administered. The area committee is composed of group service representatives, administered. The area committee is composed of group service representatives, administrative officers (chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer), subcommittee chairpersons, and the area’s regional committee members. The area committee elects its own officers, subcommittee chairpersons, and Regional Committee Members.
The monthly Area Service Committee meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of the month @ 6:30pm. You can attend in person at Emmanuel Community Church, 3303 – 28 St SE or join us on Zoom.

Convention Committee
Ealier this year, the Chinook Area of NA hosted the combined Chinook Area & Al-Sask Regional Convention in May of 2026. Volunteers will be required to support the planning and execution of our next area convention.

Activities Subcommittee
The Activities Committee’s purpose is to serve the needs of the Chinook Area by conducting activities that carry a clear NA message of recovery to the still suffering addict, and promote growth, strength, and unity as a whole. The Activities Committee’s primary function is not to fund raise, but is to provide a safe environment for fun, fellowship and social interactions among NA members.
The monthly Activities Committee meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month @ 7:00pm on Zoom.

Hospitals & Institutions Subcommittee
The purpose of an H&I meeting is to carry the NA message of recovery to addicts who do not have full access to regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings. H&I meetings/presentations, except for those in longer-term facilities, are intended to simply introduce those attending to some of the basics of the NA program.
The monthly Chinook H&I Subcommittee meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month @ 7:00pm. You can attend in person at Emmanuel Community Church at 3003 28 St SE, or join us on Zoom.

Outreach Subcommittee
The purpose of the Outreach Committee is to foster the growth of new groups in places that have restricted access to the Existing service structure. To provide support for individual members in isolated places until the formation of a group is practical. This is done in co-operation with other appropriate branches of the service structure. To encourage the creation and growth of area service committees in newly established areas and to provide support to Area Outreach activities.
The monthly Chinook Outreach Subcommittee meetings is held virtually via Zoom, on the last Monday of each month, from 6:00 to 7:00PM
Literature Subcommittee
The basic purposes and services of a literature committee are to Maintain an adequate supply of Narcotics Anonymous literature to meet the needs of the local fellowship. To stock and make available, review and approval-form literature. To serve as a communications link in all matters of literature between the group and literature committees on all levels – area, region, and world. And to provide the forum and atmosphere where members may contribute to the development and creation of NA literature.
The monthly Chinook Literature Subcommittee meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Meetings are hosted virtually on Zoom.

Newsletter Subcommittee
The newly-formed Chinook NA Newsletter Subcommittee is founded on three (3) main pillars: Community Life, Service Action, and Resource Access.
This committee will soon commence regular, reoccuring monthly meetings. This is a great opportunity to participate in NA service and gain awareness of what’s going on within the chinook Area.

Public Relations Subcommittee
he Narcotics Anonymous message is “that an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live.” Our relations with the public enable us to share this message broadly so that those who might benefit from our program of recovery can find us. We perform public relations service to increase the awareness and credibility of the NA program.
The monthly Chinook Public Relations Subcommittee meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Meetings are hosted virtually on Zoom.
